  1. 1. Introduction to the HTDS distribution
  2. ========================================
  3.  
  4. This file describes the distribution of all parts of the
  5. HyperText-Datatype-System. I decided to change the distribution scheme for
  6. HTDS. From now on there doesn't exist a version number for the whole HTDS
  7. distribution. Last Aminet release was V40.10 and last version release through
  8. the support Webpage was V40.12. Thus the archives HTDS.lha, HTDS_0x0.lha and
  9. HTDS_SDK.lha are obsolete. Each datatype of HTDS is released in its own
  10. archive now. This file descibes now, which datatypes archive is required and
  11. which optional archives exists.
  12.  
  13. Currently HTDS exists of one base datatype and several sub datatypes.
  14. So each sub datatype requires the base datatype. Also all documentation
  15. is written in the HyperGuide format, thus you need this datatype to read
  16. the documentation. Also there are some support handlers and tools, which
  17. come in a separate archive. For example the root-handler.lha archive
  18. contains a AmigaDOS handler, which offers a root: pseudo device for listing
  19. all available assign and volumes using normal directory system calls.

  41. 3. HTDS related stuff from other authors

  44. There exists two sub datatypes of the hypertext.datatype written by Swen
  45. Stullich. First the exe.datatype, which gives you information about a
  46. executable and second the iff.datatype, which can show the contents of
  47. allmost all IFF files. Look on Aminet util/dtype!

  57. This archive contains the base datatype of the HyperText-Datatype-System
  58. (HTDS). It consists out of the datatype binaries optimized for all m68k
  59. processor types, the basic documentation, catalogs for the datatype, some
  60. arexx-scripts and developer informations for writing subdatatypes of the
  61. hypertext.datatype.

  66. This archive contains the AmigaGuide compatible hyperguide.datatype.
  67. It consists out of the datatype binaries optimized for all m68k
  68. processor types, the documentation of the datatype and of all support
  69. commands and attributes of the HyperGuide document format. Also there
  70. are the default macro files for HyperGuide format, the developer
  71. informations and some examples HyperGuide documents.

  76. This archive contains the html.datatype. It consists out of the
  77. datatype binaries optimized for all m68k processor types, the
  78. documentation of the datatype and of all support tags and tag
  79. attributes of the HTML document format. Also there is a example
  80. HTML document, which shows the supported tags.

  85. This archive contains the htdsascii.datatype. It consists out of the
  86. datatype binaries optimized for MC68000 and MC68020 processor types,
  87. the datatype documentation and a new datatype descriptor.

  89. pinfo_hdtc.lha (90190 Bytes) : productinfo.datatype V40.4

  92. This archive contains the productinfo.datatype. It consists out of the
  93. datatype binaries optimized for all m68k processor types, the datatype
  94. documentation and a datatype descriptor.

  96. 5. Installation
  97. ===============
  98.  
  99. Each archive of the HTDS distribution comes with a installer script for the
  100. Amiga International Installer utility. Because of the new distribution scheme
  101. you have to install each datatype separately. Perhaps in future there will be
  102. a one install script for all datatypes. But the installer script recognices
  103. standard choices made by you. Such like main datatypes dir, CPU type, Rexx script
  104. dir, etc.
